The origins of the Turkish Shorthair are unclear, but this cat naturally occurs in different regions of Turkey and has likely been there for quite some time. Also called the Anatolian or Anatoli, and known as Anadolu Kedisi in Turkey, the breed is often mistaken for the longer-haired Turkish Van. Although rare even in its homeland, breeders in Germany and the Netherlands are working to increase its population. This agile and strong cat enjoys playing in water and is known for its fondness for bathing.
