Place of Origin-Turkey
Longhairs
Weight : Weight-6–11lb (2.5–5kg)
Historical records suggest that this native Turkish breed reached France and the UK around the 17th century. Widely used in developing longhaired breeds like Persians, especially during the early 20th century, the Turkish Angora nearly vanished outside its homeland due to crossbreeding. However, Turkey safeguarded the breed, and by the 1950s, purebred Angoras were being distributed across Europe and the US. Still a rarity, the Angora is among the most elegant longhaired breeds, featuring a fine bone structure and an exceptionally soft, luminous coat.
