Previously known as the Asian Longhair, this breed is frequently mistaken for an American cat that has been called the Tiffany, Chantilly, or Chantilly/Tiffany. It first emerged by chance as a longhaired variant of the Burmilla, a breed that itself resulted from an unplanned mating between a European Burmese and a Persian Chinchilla. The Tiffanie is a gentle and affectionate cat with a mischievous streak inherited from its Burmese lineage. It is independent enough to entertain itself but appreciates human companionship, responding keenly to its owner’s emotions.
