The Somali is a stunning longhaired relative of the Abyssinian, though neither breed has verifiable African roots to justify their names. The Somali’s luxurious coat comes in an array of rich shades, and its fine-textured fur gives it a particularly striking appearance. Among its most eye-catching features is its full, bushy tail. Highly active and endlessly inquisitive, this breed makes for an engaging and lively companion. While affectionate and sociable, the Somali is not typically a lap cat, as it is too energetic to remain still for long.
