Place of Origin-Singapore
Shorthairs
Weight : Weight-4–9lb (2–4kg)
The Singapura’s unique ticked coat caught the eye of American scientist Hal Meadow while he was in Singapore during the 1970s. Meadow and his wife began a breeding program for this breed, which they carried out both in Singapore and the US. By the 1990s, British breeders also took an interest in the Singapura. Now recognized worldwide, this breed remains rare. Though small in stature, it has a bold personality—prying and mischievous, happiest when perched high on a shelf or an owner’s shoulder, watching the world from above.
