About

A relatively new and still-unrecognized breed in many regions, the Seychellois was specially developed in the UK to resemble the distinctively patterned cats native to the Seychelles. The breeding program began with an initial cross between a Siamese and a calico Persian, followed by later additions of Oriental cats. This combination produced a slender, long-headed, big-eared cat available in both shorthaired and longhaired varieties. Based on the extent of its dramatic color markings, the Seychellois is classified into three types: neuviéme (with the least color), septiéme, and huitiéme (with the most extensive color patches). Renowned for its lively personality, the Seychellois is known to be a demanding yet deeply affectionate companion.
