About

Through years of selective breeding, initially using Persian Chinchilla crosses, the two current Pewter variations were established. Originally known as Blue Chinchillas, these cats have nearly white coats with blue- or black-tipped fur, creating the appearance of a mantle that extends from the top of the head down the back. Pewter kittens are born with traditional tabby markings, which gradually fade in intensity as they mature but still remain visible to some extent in adulthood. The breed’s unique look is further enhanced by its striking deep orange to copper-colored eyes.
