Originally found on a farm in Oregon, the LaPerm was later developed into both short-haired and long-haired varieties. This breed is known for its soft, strokable coat, which may be curly or wavy and has a light, springy texture. Outgoing and affectionate, the LaPerm enjoys attention and makes a lively pet. Highly adaptable, it fits well into different home environments and forms deep attachments to its owners. These cats require companionship and should not be left alone for long periods. Light combing, occasional shampooing, and towel drying are the best ways to maintain their unique coat texture.
