The Kinkalow, a designer dwarf cat, was purposefully bred in the 1990s by combining the Munchkin with the American Curl. As an experimental breed, it ideally possesses the ultra-short legs and small, compact body of the Munchkin along with the turned-back ears of the Curl. However, due to genetic mutations, not all Kinkalow kittens inherit these distinctive traits—some are born with straight ears and normal-length legs. The breed’s development and establishment of a standard are ongoing efforts. Thus far, this miniature cat remains free from specific health issues and moves unhindered despite its short stature.
