About

Created to closely resemble the spotted African wildcat, the Kanaani remains a rare breed, with many authorities yet to acknowledge it officially. Until 2010, its breeding program permitted crosses with the African wildcat, Bengal, and Oriental Shorthair, provided the cats had spotted coats. After that, only Kanaani parents were allowed. Distinguished by its long neck, slender frame, and long legs, this cat stands out as a unique breed. It is both gentle and affectionate while still retaining the independent nature of its wild ancestor. The Kanaani is also an exceptional hunter.
