Cats resembling the Li Hua, also called Dragon Li, seem to have been common in China for centuries. However, this breed is a relative newcomer internationally, gaining recognition as an experimental breed only in 2003, although global interest is increasing. The Chinese Li Hua is a large, muscular cat with a beautifully patterned tabby coat. While not particularly demonstrative, it is a friendly and loyal pet. Known for its clever hunting abilities, this active cat requires space for exercise and does not thrive in a small, confined home.
