A longhaired counterpart to the Siamese, the Balinese is a strikingly elegant cat with a slender, graceful build draped in a silky, flowing coat. Historical records indicate that longhaired kittens occasionally emerged from shorthaired Siamese litters for decades, but the breed was not intentionally developed until the 1950s. Known for its lively personality, the Balinese is highly curious, playful, and enjoys attention. Though not as loud as the Siamese, it is notably social and mischievous—owners are advised not to leave it unattended for extended periods.
