With its distinctively curled tail, the American Ringtail stands apart from all other breeds. Carried in a flexible arc over the back or flank, its tail gives this cat a unique silhouette. First discovered in California, this breed has seen the introduction of Oriental-type lines in its development. Though still rare, breeder interest is gradually increasing, and a longhaired version also exists. Known for their curiosity, Ringtails love to climb, explore, and engage in playful antics. Their soft trilling vocalizations originally earned them the name Ringtail Sing-a-Ling.
